The Canberra Branch of the Institute draws its membership from a diverse range of professionals with energy interests. It includes managers, scientists, engineers, economists, policy analysts and academics who work in fields such as energy utilities, government departments and agencies, industry associations, management and specialist consultancies, universities and energy management.
Topics for meetings may range from broad policy issues to quite technical matters. Energy-related environmental topics, including Greenhouse issues, have been quite prominent in the program of the Canberra Branch over the past few years.
Up to 6 meetings are normally held each year. The Branch aims to be flexible in developing its program of meetings in order to focus particularly on topical energy issues and to take advantage of some of the many interesting speakers who visit Canberra from overseas or elsewhere in Australia.
Normally meetings are held at lunchtime but sometimes in the afternoon or evening.
Our Annual End of Year drinks will be held late November so check the Events page and monthly Newsletter for details.
