Regulation of Oil & Gas Industry


Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC): http://www.accc.gov.au
The ACCC promotes competition and fair trade.It regulates network infrastructure services and reviews retail petrol prices and gas transmission issues.
Australian Energy Market Commission (AEMC): http://aemc.gov.au
The AEMC is responsible for rule-making, market development and policy advice concerning access to natural gas pipeline services and the elements of broader natural gas markets. It sets out the National Gas Rules under the National Gas Law.
Australian Energy Regulator (AER): http://www.aer.gov.au
The AER prepares National Gas Law guidelines and processes.

This association was formed to facilitate the building of a sustainable , economically viable Australian biofuels industry.
The Australian Gas Association (AGA): www.aga.asn.au
The AGA provides accredited product certification services for the gas, electrical and plumbing sectors.
The Australian Association for the Study of Peak Oil and Gas, (ASPO) Australia:
ASPO is a nationwide network of volunteer professionals working to reduce Australia's oil vulnerability.It is an excellent source on oil issues.

This site provides reports and speeches from WPC functions.  Oil industry news that are updated every 15 minutes are also provided.

Energy policy needs objective information. The Energy Watch Group was founded as an independent German/international body and its studies include regular reviews of crude oil resources. In  German and English.
European Petroleum Industry Association: www.europia.com
This site on the downstream oil industry discusses energy policy, and environmental and product quality issues.  It also includes limited statistics on European petroleum product demand and refining production.
International Petroleum Industry Environmental Conservation Association (IPIECA): www.ipieca.org

Geoscience Australia researches and advises government on petroleum prospects, reserves and oil and gas potential. It publishes widely and its reports are free.
Centre for Global Energy Studies (CGES): www.cges.co.uk
This organisation was founded by Sheikh Yamani and provides executive summaries of its monthly oil report and its outlook for the oil market, as well as speeches by CGES Board members and staff.

NYMEX is the world's largest physical commodity futures exchange and the pre-eminent trading forum for energy and precious metals. Excellent price data and studies.
International Petroleum Exchange https://www.theice.com
The International Petroleum Exchange was acquired by Intercontinental Exchange in 2001 and all trading was shifted on electronic trading platform. Available contracts include crude oil, natural gas and coal as well as carbon emissions governed by the European Climate Exchange.
