Our hard working journal editor Joy Claridge is leaving us after 12 years at the helm of AIE's Energy News journal.
We are looking for a new editor to produce four journals a year on contract.

10th Australian Coal Science Conference
This successful conference was hosted by the AIE Brisbane Branch on 18th and 19th November chaired by Andrew Dicks. The conference papers are available on the AIE website (under Events/Conference Proceedings) for members to peruse. A full set of papers can be purchased on disk for $100.
At the Conference Prof Terry Wall of University of Newcastle was awarded the prestigious AIE Baragwanath Award recognising his outstanding contribution to Australian Coal Science over his long career. More information
AIE Board Election
At the AIE Annual General Meeting in Sydney on 26th November, the result of the election of the Board for 2014 was announced. Three candidates were elected to 3 year terms, Paul McGregor (Sydney) and Paul Riordan (Sth Aust) were re-elected, and Albert Thompson (Sth Aust) was also elected to a 3 year term. The fourth place getter, Matthew Rennie (Brisbane), was elected to serve the remaining year of the term of a Director who resigned during 2013.
The current Board continues in office until the first Board meeting in 2014 when the new directors take their seats.
President Brian Truman thanked the retiring directors, Tony Vassallo (Sydney), Glen Currie (Melbourne) and Andrew Dicks (Brisbane) for their long and valuable service to the Institute.
