The Queensland Branch of The Australian Institute of Energy (AIE) held 2 key Energy presentations on Wednesday 25th June 2003. The first, a Luncheon presentation by Mr Bob Gordon, Executive Director of the Australian Biofuels Association.  He discussed the role of Biofuels as an alternate sustainable fuel source in today’s energy markets in Australia. In particular he addressed the Challenges, Budget Implications, Products & Production, Sustainability, Myths Media and Politics’ and the Future for Biofuels.

 

The other guest speaker was Mr David Williams, CEO Epic Energy. David outlined Epic Energy’s response to the WA Regulator’s final decision on the Dampier to Bunbury Natural Gas Pipeline (DBNGP). He also commented on the effectiveness of the National Access Code for Gas Pipelines and the prospects for further expansion of the DBNGP.  David commented on issues relating to State and National energy policy.
