BP East-Coast Renewable Fuels Project

 

The Brisbane Branch of the Australian Institute of Energy (AIE) held a breakfast presentation on the BP East Coast Renewable Fuels Project.  This project is part of BP’s commitment to cleaner fuels and sustainable development and is aimed at using Australian sourced fuel grade ethanol as a blend component in Petrol.
 
The program, established at BP’s Bulwer Island Refinery in Brisbane, is focused on achieving greenhouse gas reductions and lower vehicle tailpipe emissions.  The program will also help to develop a sustainable ethanol industry in Australia and assist Australia to meet its commitment to greenhouse gas reductions under the Kyoto Protocol.
