14 February 2012

Ballarat Wind Farm and Solar Park Site Tour

 

This is our first event for 2012 and will involve a bus tour to visit the 192 MW Waubra Wind Farm operated by Acciona, about 30 km NW of Ballarat, and the Central Victoria Solar City Ballarat Solar Park with 15,000 square meters of solar collectors, generating 300 kW of power. This is a unique opportunity to see these plants in operation at first hand.

 

The bus will depart at 9:00 am sharp from the east end of Federation Square in Russell Court (the extension of Russell Street across Flinders Street) and will return to the same point at about 5 pm. The tour will include lunch at Cafe 321, Learmonth.

 

MANDATORY CLOTHING: Long sleeves and long pants. No umbrellas will be allowed off the bus on sites.  Depending on weather, BYO jacket / hat / sunscreen.

Speed Networking

 

Following last year's successful inaugural speed networking event, AIE Melbourne Branch is hosting another speed networking night. Most likely to be on Wednesday 21 March, we will shortly be seeking expressions of interest from:

  • Experience energy professionals to offer their wisdom and advice to young energy professionals
  • Young energy professionals to take advantage of this special opportunity
  • Energy company/government department/university HR / graduate recruitment specialists to network with the energy professionals of the future.
