Owen Sharpe of the Department for Energy and Mining, winner of the 2018 AIE-SA Young Energy Professional Development Award supported by Australian Gas Infrastructure Group, will present his experiences from the 2019 International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Expo in Tokyo, Japan.
Owen works with industry to leverage South Australia’s rich endowment of energy resources and grow significant new industries in the State. Having previously worked on Government’s response to the Nuclear Fuel Cycle Royal Commission, Owen’s passion for the uptake of new energy technologies and industries has led him to project manage three renewable hydrogen projects being investigated in South Australia.
The International Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Expo is held annually as part of World Smart Energy Week, attracting over 66,000 guests. Following the Expo, Owen was involved in discussions and site visits in both Japan and the Republic of Korea to discuss South Australia’s long-term potential to be a supplier of low cost renewable hydrogen.
