AIE Newcastle - The Future of Industry and Manufacturing
Date: Thu 29 Nov 2018 @ 8:30am for 9:00am start to 12:00pm
Beyond Zero Emissions (BZE) and the Australian Institute of Energy (AIE) are hosting a morning seminar on the Future of Industry and Manufacturing on 29/11/18 from 8:30am. It will feature presentations on reducing costs and carbon emissions with smart and efficient processes & technology, and will include BZE’s latest industry research. The seminar will be held at TAFE Hamilton Campus with tours of CSIRO's innovative solar desiccant air-conditioning system.
It will provide a forum for Industry and manufacturing representatives in Newcastle to learn and discuss how costs can be lowered in the metals, plastic, rubber, glass, food, drink and ceramics industries. Members of Engineers Australia are eligible for CPD points and there is a small cover charge for expenses, but the event is free to BZE and AIE members. The event follows the very successful launch of BZE’s "Electrifying Industry" research in Melbourne (see www.electrifyingindustry.org.au) which is part of BZE’s research program to bring Australia’s carbon emissions to zero in 10 years with current technology.
BZE is a Melbourne-based not-for-profit independent climate change solutions think tank, and it’s acclaimed "Rethinking Cement" research won BZE the "Best International Energy and Environment Think Tank" award in 2018 from UK's Prospect Magazine. AIE is a professional association advancing the sharing of ideas and knowledge by providing an impartial environment for dynamic debate by holding conferences and seminars across Australia and through the AIE journal.
