AIE YEP Melbourne | Technical Speaker Night - Bringing Australia’s largest power to hydrogen project to life
Venue: The Trust
Date: Wed 25 Sep 2019 @ 5:30pm to 9:00pm
In conjunction with the Australian Pipeline and Gas Association’s ‘Young Pipeliners Forum’, the Melbourne Young Energy Professional’s Network is pleased to invite you to attend our technical speaker night.
Bringing Australia’s largest power to hydrogen project to life
Presented by Mike Davis - Jemena Network Innovation Manager
Jemena's Power to Gas Trial in western Sydney will use a 500kW electrolyser to convert solar and wind power into hydrogen gas which will then be stored for use across the Jemena Gas Network in New South Wales; Australia’s biggest gas distribution network. The trial will also explore how hydrogen can be used to power Australians who are on the move, with a hydrogen refuelling station being developed to support the burgeoning hydrogen-vehicle industry.
Mike Davis is Jemena’s Network Innovation Manager, responsible for developing and delivering the long-term decarbonisation strategy for Jemena’s gas distribution network. This includes the development of a power to gas project to inject “green” hydrogen into the gas distribution network as well as the assessment of biomethane opportunities for network injection. Mike has more than 15 years of energy infrastructure experience developed across renewable energy, fired power generation and gas transmission, distribution and underground storage.
