Energy storage technology is receiving significant media coverage and could potentially answer some of the challenges facing the energy industry today. Come along and hear how two large-scale lithium storage projects are being used to reduce fuel consumption at remote power stations in Western Australia.
Gary Bryant, General Manager Asset Strategy, from Alinta Energy will be presenting on the recently commissioned Newman Battery project. Alinta Energy’s 30MW Newman Battery project is the largest battery in WA and delivered first of its kind capability by demonstrating how a virtual generator can support large-scale high voltage networks.
Lourens Jacobs, Principal Development Engineer from Woodside will be presenting on Woodside’s Offshore Battery Project. Woodside Petroleum has broken ground for the offshore oil and gas industry by installing a large battery on their Goodwyn platform in a move that has saved costs as well as cut carbon emissions.
