Powering Australia Forward

Featuring CSIRO’s Low Emissions Technology Roadmap (LETR) and smart solar & battery integration technologies

4:15 – 4:45 pm Dr. Glenn Platt, Research Director – Energy CSIRO, will present on the CSIRO’s Low Emissions Technology Roadmap (LETR) which provides an independent, science-based analysis of the technology options in the energy sector that can help Australia meet its 2030 emissions reduction target and create new opportunities for local industry. The LETR will have a strong flavour about competing economics in the energy world, and CSIRO’s view of the future.

4:45 – 5:00 pm Mr. Sam West, Senior Experimental Scientist – Energy CSIRO, will present on a solar forecasting technology that operates using low-cost cameras and incorporates significant machine learning and image processing expertise.

5:00-5:30 pm Vince Marciano, Head of Technology and Innovation for Evergen, will discuss the Evergen product and specifically “intelligent’ storage i.e. storage with multiple algorithms which optimize the use of the solar energy and battery combination. This will be set in the context of the range of comparative economics of commercially available PV and battery technologies likely to be available over the next five years.

5:30-6:00 pm Panel discussion with all speakers and a range of energy industry experts.
