Sundowner Event: Improving Regulatory Approaches – Networks and Generation
Speaker: Adam Wilson, CEO, the Essential Services Commission of SA
With high penetration of renewables, the recently announced Aurora solar thermal project, and the world’s largest grid connected battery due online this summer, the regulatory approach to networks and power generation in South Australia is as topical as ever.
The branch is delighted to welcome Mr Adam Wilson, the CEO of the Essential Services Commission of South Australia (ESCOSA), to discuss improved regulation of networks and generation. ESCOSA is the independent economic regulator for South Australia, charged with the “protection of long term interests of South Australian consumers with respect to the price, quality and reliability of essential services”. Adam’s discussion will explore potential improvements in the application of regulation for network businesses (with a focus on water and energy), as well as South Australia’s new electricity generation licence conditions, which focus on the orderly integration of new technologies.
The ‘Sundowner’ format is designed to be a less-formal, low cost event, appealing to a broad cross-section of industry professionals. Please come along and enjoy drinks, canapés and informal networking.
