It assesses the role of hydrogen in the energy system and makes recommendations that would lay the foundations for Australia's participation in a future hydrogen economy.

Hydrogen energy is attracting considerable attention from industry, researchers and policy makers around the world. This study explores issues that are especially relevant to Australia, and presents a significant body of knowledge that will assist in the development an informed view of the importance of hydrogen as an energy carrier.
