AIE Membership Information Renew your membership and update your details online at: http://www.pams.com.au/aienat or (For application forms, click here ) The Australian Institute of Energy (AIE) provides a forum to bring together the various disciplines concerned with the use of energy, in its wider sense, within Australia; this ranges across the industrial, commercial, government, research and development, education, environment and social sectors.

The Institute's members include accountants, economists, engineers, fuel scientists and technologists, geologists, government employees, lawyers, managers and merchant bankers; all of whom are in some way involved in the energy industry. In addition, many Australian and international companies or organisations are Corporate Members.

The Institute offers 6 grades of membership:

Fellows who are persons possess the requirements for election to the grade of member, but in addition have at least five years of professional experience in an energy discipline and have attained a position of superior responsibility befitting the grade of Fellow.
Members consisting of persons with appropriate tertiary qualifications or training, and who have been engaged for a period of not less than 2 years in professional practice directly associated with energy disciplines and their practice.
Graduate who are persons that hold tertiary qualifications, and are engaged in activities directly associated with energy disciplines and their application.
Associate who are persons that are engaged in , or have an interest in, activities directly associated with energy disciplines and their application.
Students who are undertaking appropriate tertiary studies.
Corporate Members, open to appropriate corporate bodies, organisations or partnerships. ( Directory of Corporate Members)

Member rates** for 2008/2009 including GST are:

Member/Fellow/Associate - $118.00
Graduate - $59.00
Student - $23.50
Company Membership - $354.00 (2 representatives serviced).
* Retired members, aged 60+ with >10 years financial membership and not claiming their subscriptions as a tax deduction, qualify for the retired rate, a 50% discount.
** Membership is for a year commencing 1 July, 50% reduction 1 Jan to 30 Mar, applications after 30 Mar run to the following year
