Two of Australia's leaders in innovation and an expert in recruitment will outline career pathways through the energy industry and discuss the influence of global megatrends such as AI, big data and technology in shaping future demands. With some of the most educated opinions on the future, we will discuss current issues in the job market, trends affecting the industry and critical skills to navigate through future changes.

Paul is the Chief Combobulator at Crazy Might Work. Crazy Might Work is a national leader in innovation, with a mission to equip and inspire people and organisations to innovate, collaborate and make a difference! Three years after launching on a Russian icebreaker in Antarctica, they were finalists in the 2018 NSW Chamber of Commerce and the Optus MyBusiness Innovator of the Year awards. With a unique combination of technologies and programmes incorporating neuroscience and cross-sector collaboration to create new value and ways of working.
Paul Fox is an investor, strategist, business builder, and technologist. He is a co-founder of Evie Networks and an advisor to the Enosi blockchain project. He has held technology investment roles at Corran Toohill, AGL Energy, Southern Cross Ventures, the California Clean Energy Fund and Flex. He was instrumental in creating AGL Energy Limited’s original New Energy subsidiary, delivering products including zero-down solar, home batteries, smart air conditioners, virtual power plants, EV charging and blockchain enabled P2P trading. Now based in Sydney Australia he spent 14 years in Silicon Valley including as CEO of a smart grid company, a VP at Flex, and the CEO of a fuel cell company.
David is a leading expert in recruiting in renewable energy. David’s early career was as a Food Technologist in Australia but he moved into recruitment in the UK. He has led recruitment teams and sector practices for TMP Worldwide/Hudson and Talent2 Executive in the UK. In 2015, he moved back to Australia and set up Freshwater Group with the goal of creating a best practice recruitment business that will deliver better outcomes for all customers.
He focused on the renewable energy and clean tech sectors with Freshwater Group as that was a continuation of his work in the UK with Talent2 Executive, but also because he believes firmly in the need for climate change action and helping companies in this space to become the best they can be, is a motivating factor.
